Western Helping Fire Victims

Western Technical College has started a collection of money, clothing, food, toiletries for the students that were impacted by a house fire on Tuesday night. The collection point is the Student Life Office, Kumm Center, Room 100. The collection actually started the night of the fire. The residence hall immediately opened its doors to the students and Red Cross workers as a warm place to wait. The residence hall students then began collecting items – a box of clothes and money. They provided coffee and ordered pizzas.  In an email to all staff, President Rasch said, “As you may know, some of our students were displaced by a house fire on Ninth Street in La Crosse. No one was hurt. Rasch says he received permission from a member of the Red Cross Disaster Action Team to share his reaction to the responsiveness of Western students and staff. Simply put Rasch says….he is simply filled with pride.
