Democrats Say Walker Is A Hypocrite……Billings Agrees
It failed in 2011 and a local lawmaker says a proposal from Governor
Scott Walker may not pass again. Dan Deicher talked with State Rep. Jill Billings about the plan.
The plan would require people enrolled in SeniorCare to first sign up for Medicare Part D the federal prescription drug plan for seniors. And Walker says it’s only fair for Washington to help pay a bigger share of prescription drug subsidies for senior citizens. And that has some state Democrats accusing Walker of hypocrisy. Like Billings.
Senior-Care advocates say their program is cheaper and easier to use than Medicare. Because of that, a similar change Walker proposed in 2011 was rejected by lawmakers from both parties.
