Tax Man Coming To West Salem?

Fear not, property taxpayers of West Salem, the tax man is not coming for

your wallet.  At least not right away.  The village board asked voters in the fall to approve exceeding state-mandated spending caps.  ‘No’ was the answer.  Despite the challenges that a proposal for no increase in state aid brings, that’s likely the last word, says West Salem village administrator, Theresa Schnitzler

And that, says Schnitzler, says means paying for what the village can.  If something unexpected happens, short term borrowing will have to make up the difference.
