Pulse Point Catches On

A life-saving cellphone app introduced to the La Crosse area this past fall

is continuing to catch on. About 800 area residents have signed up to use the ‘Pulse Point’ app, supported by Gundersen Tri-State Ambulance.  The app sends alerts to users who are trained in CPR, if they happen to be near the scene of a medical emergency.  Tri-State director Tom Tornstrom says two local alerts have been sent out since November, but it turned out that the patients got help without needing the phone users to respond.  The Madison area is just now starting to use the ‘Pulse Point’ system.
