Concerns On Frac Sand Mining Heard

Concerns about frac sand mining in Houston County could reach a peak this

week, when the topic comes up at a county board meeting.  Before the board votes on possible increases in sand excavation, opponents want their message to be heard by the public.  Kelly Stanage, who has served on a county frac sand study panel, says moving the sand by train would not be as much of a hazard in Houston County, as in many parts of Wisconsin:

And Stanage told people attending a frac sand meeting in La Crescent last night that the demand for silica sand continues to grow.
