Ramps Making Cash
The decision to charge parking fees in La Crosse’s downtown ramps was
designed to make money for the city…and so far, the plan is working. A report from City Hall shows that the three ramps with ticket gates brought in around 80-thousand dollars last year…and the gates have only been operating since the end of April. On top of that, the first three hours of parking in the ramps is free. The La Crosse Center ramp generated the most money…more than 35-thousand dollars. The Main Street ramp had the second-highest revenue. Overall, parking income is up 120-thousand dollars from the total for 2013.
