Doyle Says Iowa Plan Can Work Here
Some Democrats have criticized Governor Scott Walker for paying too much
attention to Iowa, the state whose caucuses kick off the presidential nomination process. But a group of health care advocates and state lawmakers are encouraging the governor to take a cue from the Hawkeye State for non presidential reasons. Representative Steve Doyle is one of them.
At a press conference in La Crosse today, Citizen Action estimated the state of Wisconsin could save $315 million in the upcoming two year budget if the state were to request a Medicaid waiver like the one approved by the federal government for Iowa. Walker has denied those federal funds over and over.
