Reciprocity Deal In The Works…..Again
Roughly 80 thousand people combined live in Wisconsin and work in
Minnesota and vice versa. Currently, those people have to file tax returns in both states. A new bill being offered by Winona State Senator Jeremy Miller and State Rep. Greg Davids could change all of that. Miller says changes are being made to old legislation.
In years past, reciprocity allowed residents living in one state and working in the other to file taxes in one state. Minnesota has since approved a law to restore the plan. But the two lawmakers believe Wisconsin has been holding back on the issue, saying the two states remain roughly $6 million apart.
