Blue Alert Passes In Minnesota With No Opposition
A program that would operate much like the statewide Amber Alerts that are
issued when children go missing was approved in Minnesota Monday. It’s called Blue Alert. A companion bill is making its way through the state Senate. Representative Tony Cornish, who penned the bill, explains exactly how a blue alert would be used.
The system would be activated if a law enforcement officer were killed or seriously injured and officials believed the perpetrator posed a threat to the public.
