Beating Leads To Prison Time
The state wanted Thomas Beitlich to serve four years in prison
for almost beating another man to death.
But a La Crosse judge says Beitlich deserves more time behind bars. Judge Ramona Gonzalez orders Beitlich to do an eight-year term, for severely injuring Terry Callahan after barging into the victim’s apartment two years ago. Today, Beitlich apologized to the community, to his own family, and to Callahan and his relatives:
Callahan was dating Beitlich’s ex-girlfriend at the time of the beating. The judge said she doesn’t think eight years is enough prison time, but she tells Beitlich that he will spend his life in a prison he has built for himself.
