There Go The Ash Trees
Thousands of healthy ash trees already cut down in La Crosse. At least
a couple thousand more to go. Although not all of them will be cut from city property. Homeowners who want to treat their boulevard trees for Emerald Ash Borer can pay to do it. Although there’s no guarantees, says Cindy Shireman in the city’s parks department
It’s unclear at this point how many ash trees will be left once the city is finished. Crews are cutting them down before they’re infested by the ash borer in order to save money.
