Dust The Surgery Delaying Culprit At Mayo
A dusty surprise leads to a delay in some operations at Mayo Franciscan
Healthcare in La Crosse.
Dust found on sealed packages of surgical supplies led Mayo to be extra cautious about using those supplies…deciding to put off some surgeries while new supplies are brought in. Chief medical officer Dr. David Rushlow says it was not a case of human error. In fact, he credits Mayo workers for finding the problem so quickly:
The dust reportedly came from aging lighting fixtures at Mayo, stirred up during a routine cleaning.
