Badger Coulee Ruling Comes Today
Another long list of names on a petition opposed to a giant new
transmission line across Wisconsin has just been added to the pile this week. Despite that late filing in Madison yesterday, the state’s Public Service Commission is widely expected today to approve the Badger-Coulee project between Holmen and Madison. Unclear at this point is which of two routes the 345 kilovolt, half billion dollar-plus line will take. The petition from the Citizen Energy Task Force this week comes on top of years of debate and stacks of public comments on record in opposition, including from dozens of local governments in the state. The PSC’s meeting begins in Madison this morning at 10:30.
