PSC Says Yes To Badger Coule Line Project

A 345 thousand volt power line linking Madison and La Crosse was given

full approval Thursday by the Public Service Commission. Commissioner Mike Huebsch of West Salem said that no matter where he lives, he gave a 100% honest vote towards the project.

Commissioners also gave a nod towards using the northern route of the project which would effect Holmen north to Black River Falls then over to Tomah…..avoiding another route that included Onalaska. Wisconsin residents will pay an estimated 15% toward the total cost of the line. In turn, Wisconsin ratepayers are expected to pay for billions of dollars on utility projects across the Midwest that utilities are expected to propose.
