Council Set To Receive Pay Hikes?

Few workers go nearly four decades between pay raises.

La Crosse city council members are some of those few.  It’s been 36 years since the last time the council had a raise.  To 200 dollars a month.  A proposal getting a first vote next week would increase that to 500 dollars per month.  The city council president would get 600.  The pay proposal does nothing to change the expense amount of 150 dollars a month that council members get on top of their pay.  Two years ago, a proposal to increase council pay failed narrowly to win approval.
