Tearful Testimony Today At Tomah VA Hearings
Committees from both houses of Congress held a tearful hearing in Tomah
Monday on the alleged drug and employee intimidation issues at the city’s VA medical center. Dan Deicher followed the hearings.
A panel of witnesses lined up to tell their tragic stories of the Tomah VA and how it effected them. Like the testimony of Candace Delis….whose father, Thomas Behr died while waiting for care.
The VA’s undersecretary for health, Carolyn Clancy, testified for the second time in five days. She was asked why Behr was not taken care of before dying of a stroke while awaiting care.
Relatives of a Stevens Point Marine who died from a mix of prescriptions at Tomah also testified as did Tomah whistle-blower, Ryan Honl, a former employee of the VA and a former pharmacist.
