Too Much Punishment Says Nelson
La Crosse’s school superintendent believes that Wisconsin leaders are
worrying too much about punishing schools that don’t perform well. Randy Nelson says some legislators seem to think that closing many public schools or turning them into charter schools will lead to a big improvement in the quality of education:
Nelson spoke Monday at Logan High School, during a public meeting on the state’s education budget. He argued that increasing school vouchers for families would be a ‘massive entitlement’ program for the state.
