Baldwin Tours Pearl Street Brewery

The latest battleground for major beer makers and micro brewers isn’t taps…..it’s taxes. U.S. Senator, Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin is one lawmaker leading the charge. She toured Pearl Street Brewery in La Crosse Tuesday……touting the The Small BREW Act.

There are now more than 3,200 small and independent breweries in the United States, with more opening every day. Even though these small breweries represent about 12 percent of the U.S. beer industry in volume terms, Baldwin says they now represent the majority of jobs in beer. And she says it’s time to give them a tax break.
