Chart Lays Off More

Chart Industries, who recently completed a $50 million expansion in La Crosse is laying off 50 more workers.

This after the company laid off 55 others people at the end of last year.

In response to the news, Chart said in a company release that they did not make the decision lightly. The release goes on to say  they hoped the market would improve but the markets haven’t rebounded to the point where they could bring back the previously laid off workers and had to let additional workers go effective April 10th. The company says they hope the market improves enough to bring workers back at some point but they think it’s unfair to put a time estimate on bringing any workers back. The cuts are being made in all manufacturing areas of the company, including product inspection, receiving and product testing.
