Battle Of The County Judges

The next judge of Branch 5 in La Crosse County court will be either a former prosecutor, or a family court commissioner.  Brian Barton and Gloria Doyle are on tomorrow’s ballot, seeking a six-year term.  Barton argues that a good judge needs to have a background in criminal law, and he points to his experience for several years in the La Crosse D-A’s office:

Doyle says working as court commissioner is very close to the duties of a circuit judge.  The current Branch 5 judge, Candice Tlustosch, also ran in the February primary but finished third.
