Political Professor Says Amendment Needs Not Be On Ballot
If it were up to one U-W-L professor, a constitutional amendment would not be
on Wisconsin ballots tomorrow. Political scientist Joe Heim doesn’t like the amendment aimed at changing how the state’s Chief Justice is chosen. Heim recalled that during Justice Shirley Abrahamson’s most recent election, it was no secret to voters that she was already Chief Justice:
Heim says the proposed change, to let the court vote on Chief Justice instead of giving the post to the most senior court member, is ‘extremely partisan.’
