Dayton To Deliver State of State Tonight. Davids Listening Closely
Republicans in Minnesota will probably listen to governor Dayton’s state of the state address tonight. But they won’t likely agree. Preston state rep Greg Davids, chair of the state’s tax committee, already disagrees strongly with the governor about his statewide bonding proposal and how to use the state’s $1.9 billion surplus. The governor wants to spend that money. Davids thinks it should be returned to taxpayers
None of the governor’s proposals has generated as much opposition, however, as his transportation funding plan that would raise the state’s gas tax by 16 cents per gallon.
