Health Cuts Under Microscope
Social service agencies in Wisconsin are cautiously watching how the new state budget could affect them. Long-term care programs and the Senior Care system of Wisconsin could experience major spending cuts. Cheryl Neubauer from the Aging and Disability Resource Center of Western Wisconsin says her co-workers want to preserve the programs they offer now:
Neubauer says her regional office gets 11-hundred calls a month from seniors or disabled people who need assistance. She believes proposed funding cuts would be ‘devastating’ to some area hospitals.
