House Speaker Reacts To Dayton’s State Of The State

In his fifth State of the State address, Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton called on lawmakers Thursday night to act quickly and boldly on a long list of his initiatives, including more funding for education, transportation, public works projects and cleaning up the state’s waters. House Speaker Kurt Daudt gave his reactions to the speech.

The governor wants to boost funding for roads and bridges by levying a new 6.5% sales tax on gasoline at the wholesale level, which would raise prices 16.5 cents or more at the pump.
