The Lights Can Beacon-fusing
Some fear the simple exchange of a traffic signal will hopelessly tie up traffic along one of La Crosse’s busiest streets in the morning. Those fears are unfounded, says city public works director Dale Hexom. because the steady stream of college students who cross at Pine street and the very busy West Avenue aren’t waiting for the current signal, anyway. That’s why a rapid flash pedestrian beacon will work better
The city council Thursday gives a final okay to the signal swap. The work should be done soon.
