He’s not ready to reach a plea yet.  But Francis Rychtik’s (RICK-tick’s) vehicular homicide trial has been taken off the La Crosse court calendar for now.  Rychtik is charged with causing a rear-end crash on I-90 last year that killed Jason Songer of La Crescent.  His defense attorney asked Judge Todd Bjerke for more time to research evidence in the case.  Attorney Andrew Martinez suggested that his client will enter a negotiated plea.  The next hearing in the case is set for May 4th.
