Too Many Suicides
La Crosse County’s medical examiner wants to see the number of local suicides go down…but that’s not happening right now.
Examiner Tim Candahl says the total of 26 suicides in the county last year was a record. And with eight so far this year, the rate is even higher than in 2014. Area records show that the suicide rate actually went higher in Vernon, Jackson, and Monroe Counties.
