Sheriff Apologizes For Information Screw Up

The Monroe County Sheriff is apologizing today for his department giving out false information over the weekend. Sheriff Scott Perkins says his department was given some false information in reference to a reported fatality that took place in the town of Wilton Sunday.

He says after a report was released, they received information that the victim from an accident is currently at Gundersen Hospital in critical condition.

Perkins says he regrets that they put out a press release with false information and are making every effort to correct this.
