State; Job Pictures Continue to Improve for La Crosse
Lots of jobs and poverty? That’s what two seemingly conflicting reports say about La Crosse county this week. New jobs numbers just released from the state says La Crosse county has the third lowest unemployment rate in the state at 4.4% for March, which is also a full percentage point lower than the state as a whole. But a different report from a think tank at the UW this week says the county is second from the bottom of the 13 most populated counties in real poverty, only ahead of Milwaukee county. The state says city of La Crosse also has an unemployment rate of 4.4%.
