DARE Offers More Then You Think

It’s not just marijuana, cocaine, and heroin use that get the attention of police officers in the DARE program.  They’re also concerned about tobacco…keeping kids from using it, and helping parents quit the habit.  Local DARE Officer Kurt Weaver tells La Crosse County’s Heroin Task Force that he gives kids a phone number to get information about smoking cessation:

Weaver says around 4th grade, he works with students on anti-violence programs.  Prescription drug abuse gets more attention at the middle school level.
