BNSF Clears Major Hurdle

This may go down as some of the toughest miles of track BNSF has ever built.  Four miles to connect the rail company’s tracks on the southside to its northside yard.  Finally over the hump now with an Army Corps of Engineers permit in hand to build in the La Crosse river marsh.  Plenty of negotiation and discussion with the locals for that four miles, says the company’s Amy McBeth.  But pretty important

Beyond the permits needed to build in the marsh, BNSF spent months negotiating a king’s ransom with the city in order to lay tracks through the Forest Hills golf course.
