Local GOP Poll Released

Scott Walker led a straw poll of prospective 2016 presidential candidates conducted by the La Crosse County Republican Party on Saturday. Walker led the poll with 22 percent; Marco Rubio took second with 17 percent, and Rand Paul was a close third with 16 percent.

The poll was conducted at the party’s annual Lincoln Dinner, this year featuring keynote speaker Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch. Other speakers included Tony Kurtz, Dan Kapanke, Julian Bradley, and Representative Nancy Vandermeer.

La Crosse will also host the 2015 Republican Party of Wisconsin convention, which will be held at the La Crosse Center May 15-17th
