Bad VA Actors And Keeping Track Of Drugs Behind Duffy Bills
Congressman Sean Duffy has introduced two bills that stem from the investigations into the practices done at the Tomah VA. One deals with prescription medication data bases that ensure veterans cannot be over prescribed meds or given too many meds that they then sell. The other, says Duffy, deals with bad actors.
Duffy says the VA Secretary needs the authority to dismiss or remove any healthcare employee that endangers veteran’s safety, which is what this bill does. Duffy says the authority allows the immediate dismissal of bad actors, like he saw in Tomah, and ensures future VA health professionals will be dismissed for poor or negligent care.
