Freedom Flight Flies Saturday
About 80 La Crosse area veterans will take a quick trip to Washington, D-C tomorrow to view war memorials and other sites, and will come back before the day is over. It’s the first of two local Freedom Honor Flights for this year. There are limits to how many other people can travel as ‘guardians’ on the flight, so families of the vets can see them off at the airport early in the morning…and return to pick them up many hours later:
Local Honor Flights president Pat Stephens says Culver’s restaurants in the immediate La Crosse area will set aside some proceeds from sales on May 19th to help pay for future flights.
