Pump House Invites Investigative Art
Picture hundreds of woolen balls, representing bottles of estrogen pills…or maybe the back end of a dairy cow, standing on a platform that looks like manure. One artist has pictured those concepts for you, in pieces of art that were displayed on Sunday at the Pump House in La Crosse. Artist Carrie Roy came up with visual ways to illustrate pollution statistics researched by investigative reporter Kate Golden:
Each of Roy’s artworks represented contamination, or the effects of pollution on Wisconsin’s water supply. The art exhibit moves on to Madison today, as part of a weeklong tour around the state.
