Tourism Dollars And Visitors On Rise
Statewide tourism spending increased to $18.5 billion last year, up 5.5 percent from $17.5 billion in 2013. That according to State Tourism Secretary, Stephanie Klett and Governor Scott Walker. Both stopped off at Copeland Park Friday.
Walker says that money keep thousands of people employed.
Over 4 thousand of those jobs are here in La Crosse County. Statewide, traveler spending generated $1.4 billion in state and local revenue and $1 billion in federal taxes.
