Gow Hopeful Cut Not That Big
Workers in the U-W system head into summer vacation not knowing yet if they’ll experience big spending cuts when most classes resume in the fall. La Crosse chancellor Joe Gow is still hoping that the 300-million dollars in system cuts proposed by the governor can be reduced to a much smaller amount:
Gow says it will be tough to persuade some legislators that campuses like La Crosse could use more money…for example, to build a new dorm to meet the rising demand for housing.
