Local Contractor Talks Wages Law

A Black River Falls contractor is among those testifying against repealing Wisconsin’s prevailing wage law at a state senate hearing on Tuesday.  James Hoffman, from Hoffman Construction, says prevailing wage essentially helps him retain quality workers
Wisconsin’s 80 year-old prevailing wage law essentially guarantees pay minimums on public works projects.  Critics contend prevailing wage law costs taxpayers an extra hundreds of millions of dollars per year to build roads, schools and bridges, among other things.
