5 Elk Found Dead In Jackson County

A few Elk brought to Jackson County from Kentucky recently have had a bit of a problem. According to the DNR, they died.

That’s Wildlife Biologist, Tami Ryan. She says the five were among 26 elk brought to the Black River Falls region in late March, as part of shipment of 150 elk from Kentucky over a period of several years. The other animals are being held in a seven-acre pen until they finish a quarantine period that’s due to expire in about a month.
