Kabat/Shelby. What’s Going On?

La Crosse’s mayor denies he’s holding some big new developments in Shelby as hostage.  Mayor Tim Kabat says it’s not his intention to permanently block the developments in order to squeeze some money out of the town.

Under state law, the city can prevent development up to three miles beyond its boundaries.  Two planned neighborhoods in Shelby are predicted to be worth millions of dollars if allowed by the city to proceed.
