Tavern League Gives Back To Local Commuinities
May is Tavern Month and the members of the Tavern League of Wisconsin encourage Wisconsinites to stop at their local tavern to celebrate. Established in 1953, Tavern Month is celebrated each May coast to coast. Wisconsin’s on premise retailers employ 90,000 people and pay over $1,700,000,000 in wages with over $4 billion paid in state and federal taxes. Just as important as the economic impact are the charitable donations made by Tavern League members. Locally, the Lacrosse City/County Tavern League donated $879,610 to 475 charities in 2014. Today, the league donated $1000 to each local park and rec and $1500 to Crimestoppers for benches to placed around the community.
