What’s Coming Down To Make Way
Some buildings in the way of La Crosse’s first roundabout may come down yet this summer. City engineer Randy Turtenwald now says, assuming the city council approves demolition permits this week, demolition on some or all of six buildings downtown could begin as soon as July. The city has used 900 thousand dollars in DOT money to buy four apartment houses and two commercial buildings at Seventh and Cass. Construction on the roundabout isn’t scheduled to begin until 2017.
