Do You Like Police?
For the most part, Wisconsin people like the police. At least that’s what a yearly poll conducted by the state’s police union finds. Union head, Jim Palmer says, even with unrest in Madison and elsewhere over police shooting deaths, approval ratings for police in Wisconsin are as high as they’ve ever been. Plenty expressed their displeasure with police during rallies in Madison yesterday, the day after the Dane county DA declined to charge officer Matt Kenny in the shooting death of the unarmed teen, Tony Robinson during a violent confrontation back in March. One group conducted a “street trial” of police near the capitol buildling.
