La Crosse County Studies Roads

While one of the busiest highways in the area, Interstate 90, is getting a big makeover, some lesser-traveled roads will get attention soon from La Crosse County.  Starting today, a study of all 285 miles of rural and trunk highways is being launched within county borders.  The study was included in the 2015 county budget.  Highway boss Ron Chamberlain says it’s the first time that La Crosse County is undertaking such a thorough look at the rural roads:

And Chamberlain says the county can’t afford to completely rebuild its trunk highways, but it can try to improve the bad ones.  The study will be spread out over three years.
