La Crosse Police Garner Awards

Among the awards collected by a La Crosse police lieutenant this week is one from a local mental health group.  Lieutenant Avrie Schott on Monday was awarded the Outstanding Crisis Intervention Team Officer award by the Mental Health Coalition of the Greater La Crosse Area at the group’s annual Shining Star Awards ceremony on Monday.  Schott has been recognized, among other efforts, for her life-saving efforts in successfully negotiating with a suicidal person threatenting to jump from Grandad Bluff.  Schott was also given a departmental Life Preservation award from her own department during Wednesday’s police recognition ceremony in La Crosse.
