Shilling Not Liking Vote Process
Another late-night surprise from Wisconsin lawmakers? The joint finance committee voted early Wednesday on a budget bill that includes a plan to offer private school vouchers to students with special needs. Senator Jennifer Shilling says those students could lose services they need, if they’re taken out of public schools. Shilling is also upset about the way that the plan was brought up for a vote:
The La Crosse Democrat believes that if the special needs vouchers are approved, state funding per pupil in Wisconsin schools will drop below the national average.
