Designs Considered for La Crosse Center
The La Crosse Center Board is leaning toward putting a new ballroom and a grand outdoor staircase at the northwest end of the building, close to the Radisson. Board members are reviewing a couple of major design changes to the 35-year-old arena, to make it more competitive with newer convention halls in the region. The board president, Brent Smith, says improvements to the west wall of the center would work better at the north end, even though that’s farther away from the parking ramps:
The board hopes to get cost estimates for that makeover from a consultant at its June meeting. Smith thinks the city council could vote on Center changes by August or September.
