City to Consider Turning Park Into Home Lots

La Crosse has dozens of parks. What’s one less? The city’s public works board will consider that question today. The board will weigh a proposal to decommission tiny Springbrook park on the city’s far southside and turn it into lots for single family homes. Springbrook is one of about thirty so-called neighborhood parks that typically lack in amenities but mostly provide public green space for the surrounding neighbors.
