Dive Team Still Seeking Building Permission from City Hall

A volunteer, life-saving group is only asking La Crosse city hall to use a small patch of land.  The La Crosse Dive Team is back in front of the city’s public works board this morning, asking to lease a section of Isle la Plume by the city wastewater treatment plant to put up a privately funded building.  So far, that request has been complicated by the city’s police and fire departments wanting their own new building space and working out ways to collaborate with the dive team.  Which may not make sense, says public works boss, Dale Hexom, because the scope of such a building would be immense.  Also, while the dive team is ready to break ground now, Hexom says it would take two or more years before the police and fire department would be ready to build.
