Administrator Salary Vote Coming

Four more years for the county administrator are at stake in La Crosse County meetings tonight.  The county executive committee will meet tonight, before the regular monthly county board session.  Supervisors will be asked to extend administrator Steve O’Malley’s contract through 2019, paying him 180-thousand dollars next year.  O’Malley would also get 25 vacation days a year, along with 10 personal days off.  The administrator has been a lightning rod for criticism from county residents who object to expensive county projects, especially on new buildings.

 

 

 

A native of Prairie du Chien, Brad graduated from UW - La Crosse and has worked in radio news for more than 30 years, mostly in the La Crosse area. He regularly covers local courts and city and county government. Brad produces the features "Yesterday in La Crosse" and "What's Buried on Brad's Desk." He also writes the website "Triviazoids," which finds odd connections between events that happen on a certain date, and he writes and performs with the local comedy group Heart of La Crosse. Brad been featured on several national TV programs because of his memory skills.
